It doesn't cost anything to use and a percentage of what is spent online is donated to St James by easyfundraising. So if you shop online please go to easyfundraising.org.uk and register and then use their website to access the online retailers who you shop with. It is very easy to use, costs absolutely nothing and raises money for the church. So there's no reason not to use it! For more information use the menu bar on the left of the screen or click here.

Rewiring Appeal
The electrical cabling in church is old, lights keep blowing and the fiitings are failing. We are therefore about to start the process of applying for permission to rewire the church and install new lighting. This will costs around £30,000 and so we are launching an appeal to raise enough money to cover the work so that we other areas of church life don't have to be scaled back to compensate. Please do help us with this. It is essential work that we have to do for safety reasons and we really don't want the day-to-day work at St James to be cut to cover it. Please could you use the gift aid envelopes in church and write "rewiring" on them before dropping them off with Clive or the churchwardens.

St James Pub Night - Friday 22nd June
The next pub night is at the Hare and Hounds . Please put the date in your diary and come along and join us for a fun social evening.

St James Summer Ball at Frensham Heights - Saturday 21st July
Tickets are on sale now for the Summer Ball - see the churchwardens. This is our main fund raising event of the year and the proceeds will go towards the rewiring appeal, so please do support this important event. Tickets are £50 per head and include a welcome glass of Champagne, excellent three course meal, a first glass of wine, disco and entertainment.

Jubilee Celebration Weekend, Sunday 3rd June
The plan is currently to start setting up at 8am on Sunday 3rd in order to be ready for the church service at about 2:45pm. The organisers need help on Sunday morning to set up, to take down and to put away, from 9pm onwards. This will involve moving chairs, tables, gazebos, marquees and food as well as laying tables and putting up decorations. If you can help then please go to the village website, www.rowledgevillage.org.uk, and enter your details or contact Nora Tarrant on 792 641. Also volunteers are needed to make cakes for the village afternoon tea. Please help so that there is enough cake for everybody to have a slice - see the sign up sheet at the back of church.

Village Fayre - Jubilee Weekend, Monday 4th June. 12 noon start.
Our stalls this year: Pimms tent, roving raffle, cakes and books. There will not be a bric-a-brac, gifts or tombola. However we do need donations of prizes for the roving raffle, so please donate gifts and bottles for this and also cakes and books for the other stalls. This is another important fundraising event and we need your support. Please see Lesley Voice to donate or offer assistance.

Weekly Prayers
Clive and Jane have established a weekly pattern to pray for the benefice of Rowledge and Frensham parishes. Every Wednesday at 5pm they will meet at one of our churches to pray together. Anyone else is warmly encouraged to join them. No prayers this week as Clive is away.

Giving for Life - We are currently thinking about giving to the local church and considering our attitude to giving and our response to God in this important area of our lives. It costs over £17,500 per month to run St James' and we are entirely reliant on the generosity of the church members. Do think about our 3% challenge ... can you commit to paying 3% of your take home pay to the church? Speak to a Churchwarden or Mike Randall if you want more details.
