Happy New Year to you all. However, before we all forget 2011 we would like to reflect for the final time on the Christmas season services which were so wonderful with their wide range and broad appeal. Attendance was very strong and we hoped you enjoyed the services as much as we did. Among the many highlights, the Christingle, Nativity Play and the Carol Service stand out as being particularly special. Our greatful thanks go out to all those involved especially Clive, Kevin and the choir for the wonderful music we have been treated to. Also a special mention must be made for Jo Chipperfield and her helpers for the fabulous nativity play which we all very much enjoyed.
St James has been set up on easyfundraising.org.uk to earn extra donations from registered users who shop online. It doesn't cost anything to use and a percentage of what is spent online is donated to St James by easyfundraising. So if you shop online please go to easyfundraising.org.uk and register and then use their website to access the online retailers who you shop with. It is very easy to use, costs absolutely nothing and raises money for the church. So there's no reason not to use it! For more information use the menu bar on the left of the screen or click here.

Being a member shows your commitment and entitles you to vote at the annual meetings.
Weekly Prayers Clive and Jane have established a weekly pattern to pray for the benefice of Rowledge and Frensham parishes. Every Wednesday at 5pm they will meet at one of our churches to pray together. Anyone else is warmly encouraged to join them. This week, Weds 11th, they will be at Dockenfield.
Pray @ 8 We all know how important it is to pray together, but also how difficult it is to find a suitable time to get together to pray. However now you can know that others in our church will also be praying at the same time as you if you join the Pray @ 8 initiative. Find somewhere peaceful to pray at 8am or 8pm every day. If lots of us do it then both our individual and corporate prayer life will improve.
Ruth's latest message is posted here. Do catch up with how she, Ephraim and baby Max are getting on.
Giving for Life - We are currently thinking about giving to the local church and considering our attitude to giving and our response to God in this important area of our lives. It costs over £15,000 per month to run St James' and we are entirely reliant on the generosity of the church members. Do think about our 3% challenge ... can you commit to paying 3% of your take home pay to the church? Speak to a Churchwarden or Mike Randall if you want more details.
Latest Youth events - A listing for 2012 will be posted soon. Sorry for the delay.
