Clive Richardson - Vicar

My name is Clive Richardson and I am the Vicar of Rowledge & Frensham. I am delighted to welcome you to our website, and hope that you will find the information you need. Rowledge & Frensham is a united benefice of two parishes, but you will find me most of the time at Rowledge where I live. In addition to my parish duties, I serve on various diocesan committees and synods, two school governing boards, a number of local charity and trust committees, and am a local tutor for a clergy training course.

I live at the New Vicarage with my wife Sally, and most of our four children (sometimes it is hard to keep up with who’s at home with universities and work commitments!)

My vision is for the church that all the members of the family, from the youngest to the oldest, will be able to find a place they can worship and find fellowship, prayer, and teaching. As a family man myself, I am keen to see the needs of all ages addressed. We all spend so much time flying in opposite directions it’s good to find something that families can all do together, and an hour or so on a Sunday is not a massive chunk of the weekend, so there’s still plenty of time for everything else.

I hope that whatever the reason for your visit to our website, you will visit us at some time. If you would like to come on Sunday our service programme is listed on this site, and you will be very welcome. We are always glad to see new people, whether you are used to attending church or not, and if you choose to come along and see us, you will be sure of a warm and friendly welcome from me and from our growing congregation.

As St. James’ Church is on the edge of Alice Holt Woodland Park, with an entrance next to the car park, you can combine a visit to us with a visit there.

Stephen Crabtree - Hon. Curate

Stephen joined St James' church in 2008 as a non-stipendary curate. He is headmaster of Amery Hill Secondary School in Alton. Married with three children, he lives in Farnham and assists with Sunday worship at St James and in the other churches in the united benefice, St Mary's in Frensham and The Church of the Good Shepherd in Dockenfield.

George Puddephatt - Reader

George has lived in the village for over 15 years. Following a career as a civil engineer, he now assists the vicar with services and pastoral care in the community.
