Getting Married?

St. James’ is a wonderful church for a wedding. Situated on the edge of Alice Holt Forest, with the forest entrance next to the church, this is a beautiful quiet and natural setting. The church itself is exceptionally well maintained, and the interior, which has changed little since it was built, impresses visitors with its beauty and with its sense of prayerfulness. It is a special place.

The church can accommodate up to 140 people comfortably, although a few more can be squeezed in! Yet, it feels fairly full with a congregation of 70 –80. Inside the church there are no pillars to obscure peoples’ view, and this, together with the intimacy of the church, enables all to feel involved in what is taking place. All of these factors have helped to make St. James’ an ideal venue for many weddings over the years.
